Acts 3:19 Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; There has been so much hype of "revival" in our modern day that it is easy to forget the true biblical criteria and definition of revival. Revival cannot be brought about by signs and wonders or "laying" on of hands to transfer apostolic or prophetic "anointings". In fact there is no such thing in the Bible.The Biblical criterion for revival has, as a precondition, repentance. The word "refreshing" is also defined as "revive".

Ten Questions for those who Claim the "Supreme Beings" of the Nations are the True God

I have some questions for those of the World Christian Gathering of Indigenous People (WCGIP) adherents such as Don Richardson, Daniel Kikawa, Richard Twiss (deceased), Terry LeBlanc, Danny Lehman, Aloha KeAkua, YWAM as well as many in the Emergent Church (EC) ... the questions arise from their claim that the "supreme beings" of the nations are all the True God, YHWH, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. You can read more on this subject in our book "Idolatry In Their Hearts" or in the WCGIP section of my site.
My main question for them is this: When did ANY of the Patriarchs and Prophets in the Old Testament and the Apostles or Jesus Christ in the New Testament EVER claim that the "supreme beings" of the nations were Elohim/YHWH, the one True God? For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (2 Tim 4:3) Sixty thousand people are expected at The Send stadium event, scheduled for February 23, 2019. According to the organization's website, it is "A NEW ERA." We may indeed be entering a new era, but not necessarily one of increased evangelism or missions, which is the purported goal of The Send. Something is very different in the visible church these days. According to a recent PEW survey, many Christians now accept concepts associated with the new age, such as "belief in reincarnation, astrology, psychics and the presence of spiritual energy in physical objects like mountains or trees."[1] One of the speakers scheduled for The Send is Ben Fitzgerald, now a Bethel Redding pastor. Bethel Redding leader Bill Johnson will be speaking as well. Readers may recall that Fitzgerald was one of the Bethel Redding people who tried to absorb or soak up the "anointing" from the bones of the controversial evangelist, Smith Wigglesworth.

Christians have been confused by the fact that there are Christian ministers and teachers who, in spite of serious sin, continue to teach the word in a doctrinally correct way. We understand that none of us is perfect and that we all sin. What I am referring to here is ongoing sin which has not been repented of. This is often glossed over with terms such as "character flaws" or "weaknesses". Often a vile temper is excused as "righteous anger". Hatred, an unforgiving spirit, bitterness, strife etc. is often brushed aside by the claim to righteous zeal. A judgmental and critical attitude is justified under the term "discernment". The fact remains that sin is sin and wrong can never be called right.

Letter to the Editor: Having Discernment - Both a Blessing and a "Curse"

I have come to realize that discernment is a gift like no other. It is a blessing and a "curse" at the same time. A blessing because it provides a person with insight that allows them to take precautions so as to not be led astray by wolves and/or blind leaders. On the other hand it is "curse" because it is often met at the door by the pride of other believers. Case in point, if a discerning Christian tells another believer that it is troubling to see men like Charles Stanley and John MacArthur share a platform at Proclaim 19 with people like Rick Warren, then he/she is quite often labeled undiscerning or divisive. After all, most believers do not want to think that their spiritual heroes could be wolves in sheep's clothing and that their own levels of discernment may be lacking.
