"Glitter Christians"
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on this article.
Glitter Christians.
This is a name I came up with for people attending and teaching at Oral Roberts University in the 70s.  Even back then I had come to realize that their way of representing Christianity was not in line with the Scriptures.  At that time I didn't know that Oral Roberts was carrying on the Word of Faith traditions of New Thought practitioners such as Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Essex Kenyan, Norman Vincent Peale, Robert Schuler, and many other false teachers of the time.  Though I didn't know anything about Word of Faith or New Thought then I knew that the way they were representing Christianity was just not right somehow.  Their desire to portray Christians as rich, beautiful, healthy, perfect, and virtually sinless (holiness) went directly against the example of Jesus, the Apostles and the early church.

Throughout my Christian life I have periodically heard fellow Christians suggest we are in the last days. Often these comments were initiated from current cases of violent crimes, sexual perversions, war, or natural disasters. Since I knew history had repeatedly encountered these calamities, such predictions of Christ's imminent return rang hollow. However, in 1984 I had an unexpected encounter that changed my entire outlook. A newfound friend educated me about the New Age movement and its end-times implications. After a period of investigation, I came to believe this could very well be the time period the book of Revelation showcases. Instead of a vague and obscure manifestation of prophecy, I saw something distinct and pervasive happening in our churches and society. And incredibly enough, this shift has been predicted from both sides of the struggle.

Halloween! A Warning to Parents (Booklet)
by Johanna Michaelsen, 10/12/17

It is tragic that many people in the church have forgotten that "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7), and that includes on Halloween! Too many of our children have been made vulnerable to a spirit of fear and to the occult where we allow faith in God to be extinguished by participating in the darkness of this world. After the repeal of the Witchcraft Act in England in 1951, the Witches and Satanists experienced a revival which is currently in full swing. You might not know too much about Witches or Satanists, but I guarantee you that most kids do in today's computerized, Internet, social-media world. For ye were sometimes [formerly] darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light . . . And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [expose] them. (Ephesians 5:8,11)
Should our church sing Bethel Music worship songs?
at Spirit of Error, 10/11/17 Spirit of Error

A frequent question I hear has to do with the music being made by groups coming out of Bethel Redding and other churches that have New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) beliefs. The question is, is it OK to sing their songs as long as the lyrics don't contain any error? By way of background, Bethel Music, a popular record label, is known for producing high quality music, and their songs are sung in churches across America on Sunday mornings-not just in NAR churches, but even in many mainstream evangelical and non-denominational churches. And the truth is that many of the people in these churches sing along, having no idea that these songs come from a leading church in an aberrant movement. I, myself, have sung along with songs in church or on the radio, only later to discover that those songs came from Bethel Music. Churchgoers who are aware of the songs' origins sometimes feel conflicted singing along. And worship leaders face a dilemma of whether to include anything from Bethel Music in their weekly song selection. Recently, someone called Greg Koukl's podcast and asked Greg this very question-about whether it's OK to sing songs made by Bethel Music, as long as the lyrics contain no obvious error. I thought Greg's answer was spot on, so I'm including a link to the podcast here. On the link, see Topic No. 5, "Should music from a doctrinally compromised source be judged on its own?" The question about Bethel Music, followed by Greg's answer, starts at 00.51:57. I was also pleased to hear Greg refer his listeners to one of my co-authored books, God's Super-Apostles, and this blog, especially since Greg's podcast is one of my favorites.
The Trojan Horse of Interfaith Dialogue (MP3)
by Crosstalk Crosstalk America
Host: Dalton Windsor
Guest: Shahram Hadian, 10/18/17

Today's Crosstalk is a special broadcast of the September 2017 VCY Rally held in southeast Wisconsin. The featured speaker was Shahram Hadien. His presentation: The Trojan Horse of Interfaith Dialogue. Shahram was born in Iran and raised Muslim. More importantly, Shahram was born again after hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ and receiving Jesus as His Savior and Lord. Shahram is a pastor, a former police officer, a teacher, coach, and now as the founder of the Truth in Love Project (T.I.L. for short) he travels extensively contending for the faith that saves and exposing the dangers of blending Christianity with Islam. While time does not allow Crosstalk to air the entire presentation, we do encourage everyone to obtain the DVD which covers the entire evening and features all of the power point teachings.  Shahram starts by detailing his list of resources for the presentation, beginning with the Holy Bible (also listing the Koran, and other named works). Shahram contends that the idea of "Chrislam" (blending of Christianity & Islam) is sneaking into America's churches and many are not even batting an eye - regardless of what Scriptures warn. He says that Muslims are attempting to "convert us" (Christians). Shahram explains what he sees as the "three false claims of the interfaith ecumenical movement." Of these, he explains how Christians are being "told" there is a "common word between the bible and the Koran." He also says more and more churches in America are being deceived by "evangelical leaders" who have actually signed onto a so called "Common Word" document.  Over the course of the evening, Shahram refutes those who refute him for taking things (in their view) too far - and shares video which backs up his claims that even elders "in churches" are setting down with Muslim Imams to find common ground (the audience reaction to this is quite chilling). Shahram shares several more verses from the bible and along with them, how implementing them will bring change. He also makes a strong point that because Christians are so far away from the Scriptures today, if we will go back to teaching about our Creator God, the next generation would no longer have to be confused about their "sexuality or orientation" saying it "would go away because we would understand Who God is and how He created us." He ends with testimony and proper ways to reach Muslims with the Gospel that saves, as well as an exhortation to pray for Israel and the Church; the Church that is determined to fulfill Jesus' great commission.
