This DVD is a message based on this article.

I was talking with a pastor after a Wednesday night service and he mentioned that I said I had done an article comparing English Bible translations. He called me up later and asked me to come back and present the contents of that article I sent out in about 2002 to my mailing list for the Pacific Waves Newsletter which, unfortunately, I can no longer afford to publish and mail. However an archive of past issues of that newsletter can be found here

. In that article I detailed a number of good and bad resources for pastors including Bible translations, concordances, commentaries, Bible dictionaries, etc. I present an edited version of part of that article on this DVD, particularly dealing with English Translations of the Bible. Translation is a very detailed endeavor and should only be undertaken by those with a proper education in that subject and a sound doctrinal background. I read a few books on that subject and it helped me understand the complexities involved. Hebrew is a rich language so it is hard to distill one Hebrew word down to one English word. Greek is a very technical language and it is also not easy to translate. This is why it is imperative to use the good English translations out there for comparison along with a good concordance and Bible dictionary.

Did Jesus have a physical body when He resurrected and will He return in this body?

In the Old Testament The Angel of The Lord (known as the covenant maker) appeared as a Christophany, as a man. Jesus took up a actual human body of man in the New Testament through the virgin conception. He, the Son of God became a man. He took up a human nature to house His deity, the Son of God became the son of man. Jesus rose with the same body but it is glorified, He is unable to die now (Rev. 1:18). This will be the body we will have, as he is the firstfruits to eternal life in the body (1 Cor.15:20). He is now as Scriptures states in his high priestly ministry in his body making intercession (1 Tim.2:5). And He will return in this body with God's glory, as Scripture states every eye will see him (Rev.1:7) " they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory" (Mark 13:26; Mt.24:30;26:64) He does not return as spirit, nor does He exist only as Spirit but He has added a human nature to His deity since He was incarnated on earth. Thus God became man but is not limited to the body. So Jesus keeps His humanity and at no time discarded it, either in death or in resurrection.

The Daniel Plan

Who would have believed it? Occult/New Age doctors being invited into the church to teach Christians how to be healthy? On January 15, 2011 a fifty-two week health and wellness program-the Daniel Plan-was initiated at Rick Warren's Saddleback Church. More than six thousand people attended the well promoted and carefully staged event. Warren took the opportunity to announce that his own personal goal was to lose 90 pounds in 2011. The Daniel Plan website states that "the Daniel Plan envisions starting a movement so the result is better physical and spiritual health for current and future generations."1 It describes how Rick Warren "recruited three best-selling authors" to create and oversee the Daniel Plan Curriculum-Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Daniel Amen, and Dr. Mark Hyman.2 Although these three physicians are all involved with New Age teachings, they describe themselves respectively as a Muslim, a Christian, and a Jew.

Biblical Signs Of A Work Of God

I will now show positively what are the sure, distinguishing scriptural evidences and marks of a work of the Spirit of God. By these marks we may judge any operation we find in ourselves or see among people without danger of being misled. In this I shall confine myself wholly to those marks that are given us by the apostle John in the fourth chapter of his first epistle.
