In a New York Times article titled "In the Classroom, a New Focus on Quieting the Mind," elementary children in an Oakland, California school are promised peace and loving-kindness if they will learn to meditate.

Letter to the Editor: Christian & Missionary Alliance OK With Ruth Haley Barton and Other Contemplatives

Two and a half years ago the leadership of the Western PA District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance invited Ruth Haley Barton to speak to its pastors and lay delegates at its annual District Conference. I sat in amazement as I watched my fellow pastors nod their heads in affirmation as Mrs. Barton said Moses went in to the desert to meditate. I didn't see my fellow pastors turn to the book of Exodus to read the account of Moses. My Bible says Moses went to the desert to escape being killed by Pharaoh.

4 dead, many injured at SCOAN Ghana. This anointed water nonsense must stop!

TB Joshua has just released version 3.0 of his anointed water packaging. The packaging for anointed water 2.0 boldly claimed that it was "for the salvation of your soul". Presumably since the release of 2.0 someone explained to TB Joshua that only the blood of Jesus could provide salvation, so incredibly for version 3.0 he labels his anointed water "the blood of Jesus". You can't make this stuff up. Sadly, all the hysteria about the new, upgraded anointed water packaging turned to tragedy on Sunday when a stampede happened at SCOAN Ghana. 4 people were killed and many others injured, according to a police officer at the scene "15 people who were seriously injured, some with broken limbs, many others collapsed but were resuscitated."

Shhh... It's a Secret God Told Me to Tell You!

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law. \(Deut. 29:29) As the Preacher has already told us, "There is nothing new under the sun." (Ecc. 1:9) So why should we be surprised that yet another person has been the exclusive recipient of yet another "secret" from God and, for the first time in the history of the world, is making it known to us? For some reason, instead of writing it down in one of the original languages of the Bible and making it freely available to all like the original Prophets of old, this time around God chose to have it printed in English and sold for $16.99 ($9.00 on the Kindle). For a fee, the "prophet" will come and speak about it. False teaching disguised as "revelation" like Jonathan Cahn's The Harbinger have been around since handwriting was invented and such will, no doubt, persist until the Lord returns. Please do not buy it or even bother reading a friend's copy; why should you take away time from your personal meditation in Scripture, the only true source of revelation?
