Featured Discernment Ministry
MORIEL is a teaching ministry to believers stressing the need to rediscover the Scriptures as Hebraic literature (as opposed to Hellenistic literature), demanding the hermeneutic models of Second Temple Period Judaism as a basis in biblical interpretation. Essentially this means an attempt to rediscover the methods of interpretation used by the New Testament writers.
We note the Sitz in Leben of Biblical Jewish culture along the lines of various scholars, but in order to see the greater depth of contained meaning we adopt an understanding of early midrashic models in addition to conventional grammatical-historical models of interpretation.
However, we reject as Gnostic any attempts to build doctrinal theology on symbolism or typology, although we press the need to use typology and allegory to illustrate and illuminate doctrine.

"Chrislam" - Do Christians and Muslims Worship the Same God?
| by Pastor Larry DeBruyn Guarding His Flock Ministries, 3/31/12
Some Christians naively and mistakenly equate that because Christianity and Islam are monotheistic faiths (belief in one God), Christians and Muslims worship the same God, the synthesis of the two religions being labeled, "Chrislam."[1] Mega church leader Rick Warren calls the reconciliation King's Way.[2] To advocates for the synthesis, any differences between the two religions are viewed as superficial. Differences can be overcome by an ecumenical appeal to the "nobler side" of the different religion's devotees. After all, only the names for God differ. Muslims call Him Allah, while Christians address Him as Lord. The singleness of God is thought of as an ecumenical rallying point, a basis for mutual understanding, if not some kind of unity, between the religions.

Beware Of Angels From The Dark Side | by Marsha West, 3/28/12
Angels fascinate people. For years we've been inundated with books, calendars, stationery, folklore, jewelry, knickknacks, lunch boxes, tattoos, even cherubic trash containers. People can't get enough of angels! Stories of angelic encounters abound on the Internet. You ask, "Do you have a problem with angels?" Well, yes. And herein lies the problem. The messengers are not necessarily "angels of light" as people have been led to believe. Many angel enthusiasts have actually met heavenly visitors from the dark side. Even self-professed Christians are deceived. How can this be? Shouldn't Christians be able to discern what's real and what's counterfeit? Not necessarily. Biblically illiterate Christians are easy to fool.

Elephant Room 2's T.D. Jakes' Spiritual Daughter Paula White In The News | by Ken Silva, 3/31/12
While Osteen sugarcoats his Word Faith prosperity preaching by mixing in self-help jargon ala Robert Schueller, there is no doubt that Pastrix Paula White is basically a female version of T.D. Jakes. If you didn't know, there's good reason for this as White often speaks of Jakes as her "spiritual father," which you can hear for yourself in Elephant In The Room: T.D. Jakes And Paula White. To point this out is not merely guilt by association.
