The ElijahList The biggest promoter of false prophecies in cyberspace! compiled by Sandy Simpson. This is a sampling of false prophecies by many false prophets that have been distributed by ElijahList. I have been collecting ElijahList newsletters for years. The following are but a tiny fraction of the false prophecies ElijahList has sent out. Prophesy, that is predictive, is to be judged not only on whether or not the prophecy came true, but on how it depicts the character and testimony of God, and whether or not it teaches what the Bible teaches. If a Third Wave prophet happens to, on the very off chance, get a prediction right his prophecy must still be judged as to whether or not it is consistent with the law and the testimony (Is. 8:20). If it is not it is a lying prophecy, not from the Lord, but from either the delusions of his or her own mind (Jer. 14:14) or from evil (Jer. 23:10) which has it's origin from the evil one (Jas. 3:15, 1 Jn. 3:8). Discernment Link
The purposes of Christian Discernment Resources are: To provide a witness of the truth of Jesus Christ and the true gospel to those who may not have heard the gospel before and to those who may currently have been deceived by erroneous teachings. To provide information for Christians on the new movements that we see frequently in the church these days so that they have some help in discerning the true from the false. Encourage Christians to be as Bereans and to test everything by searching the scriptures daily to see if these things are true (Acts 17:10-11). In this regard, we do not believe that anyone is above such testing and would encourage those who are using this site to check out what we say and see for yourself if what we say is true.

That Dreaded Word . . . HERESY!! | by Kevin Reeves from "The Other Side of the River", 5/3/11 Nearly everyone in our leadership cringed at the actual utterance of the word heresy. At its every mention, they regarded me with an alarmed expression that nearly yelled, "Don't say that!" and avoided the use of the term as if it were an unclean thing. Even presented with the Word of Faith doctrine that states the physical death of Christ on the Cross did not accomplish salvation, their heads would shake, mouths tighten, and hands would go up to bring a halt to further discussion. Heaven is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back
| by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent Reviewed by The Berean Call There have been quite a number of books written by or about people who claim to have personally visited Heaven. Some of these authors profess to be Christians while others do not. The descriptions of their experiences vary regarding such things as entering into a dazzling white light at the end of a dark tunnel and being greeted by deceased loved ones, or being in the presence of God and seeing the shed feathers of angels dotting the grand floor of His throne room. Many of their stories contain information that would seem to be beyond their ability to know at the time--or at all. Although these individuals supply much information, the content raises many questions. Obviously, everything they say can't be true because some of the content in one book contradicts what's written in others. How do we know who is giving us an accurate and truthful account? A biblical Christian might say that he would compare what they say with what is presented in the Scriptures about Heaven. If it rings true to the Word of God, then it must be true. Well, yes and no. Yes, it must be true to Scripture. What is presented certainly cannot be at odds with what the Bible teaches about Heaven; nevertheless, just because it conforms to Scripture doesn't prove that the person's declaration or experience of being in Heaven actually took place. Altered States: A Different Gate - The sober Christian in a spiritually inebriated age
| by Sarah Leslie and Pastor Larry DeBruyn, 4/28/11
New Age Movement (NAM) rose in prominence during the late 1970s, and remains popular today. One component of NAM spirituality was meditation associated with "Transcendental Medication" (TM), a Hindu religious practice that was popularized and introduced to the Western culture by the Beatles and their personal guru, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (1914-2008).[1] The Maharishi is credited with introducing Hindu mysticism to western culture along with that religion's spiritual disciplines such as Yoga. A savvy marketer, he seized every opportunity to repackage Hindu spirituality to sell to American culture, one part of which consisted of meditative techniques that promised practitioners "increased creativity and flexibility, increased productivity, improved job satisfaction, improved relations with supervisors and co-workers," and so on.[2] At that time TM was marketed so as not to appear as a religion, but propagandized to be a way to realize "better health, stress relief and spiritual enlightenment."
