The Intention Experiment
Wrong intentions?
by Sandy Simpson, 9/23/09

In the latest book by Dan Brown (author of "The DiVinci Code") called "The Lost Symbol" he takes his collective consciousness ideas to the extreme.  On the web site called "The Intention Experiment" Lynne Taggart, who has authored a book by that name, is mentioned in "The Lost Symbol" when Dan Brown writes:

…human consciousness, as Noetic author Lynne McTaggart described it, was a substance outside the confines of the body. A highly ordered energy capable of changing the physical world. Katherine (Solomon) had been fascinated by McTaggart’s book ‘The Intention Experiment’, and her global, Web-based study – theintentionexperiment.com - aimed at discovering how human intention could affect the world.” (Dan Brown, The Lost Symbol (Random House, 2009), http://www.theintentionexperiment.com/)
On Taggart's web site people are given a chance to participate in her experiment in thought projection with detailed instructions in how to achieve the proper meditative state in order to project your thoughts and change matter.
*Join our community. Only members of the community can participate in our large-scale experiments. To join and learn about the community benefits, click here.
*Note the date and time of the next Intention Experiment when we release it, and clear your calendar to be ready to participate that day. We usually run a count-down clock on the front of the website as an aid. We will also provide information about the time of the experiment in your own time zone. Readers around the world will be participating, so it is vital that all the readers send intentions at the exact same moment.
*Open and read our weekly newsletter and any emails from us, which will offer updated instructions about the experiments.
*Read the book The Intention Experiment. Although it’s not mandatory to read Lynne’s book in order to participate in the experiments, it will offers you a complete understanding of the power of intention. It also contains the Powering Up program, a simple but effective method of using intention, gleaned from the practices of scientists and many intention masters.
*Practice Powering Up before the date of the experiment.
*Register for the experiment, when you are asked to do so.
*On the day of the experiment, come onto the website 10-15 minutes before the start of the experiment.
*Follow the instructions. You will be given a target plus instructions about which intention to send.
*Join the discussion groups on the Social Network and tell us about your own personal experience of the Intention Experiment.
*Fill out the survey. We’ll send you a link to a survey afterward, so you can record your experiences, which will form part of ongoing research. (http://www.theintentionexperiment.com/participate)
Clicking the "How to Intend" button on her site brings up this information:
Intention – requires technique and practice
Anyone can learn to do effective intention in their life, but it does require some learned techniques.
To find out how to ‘do intention’, Lynne McTaggart interviewed many intention masters – Qigong masters, Buddhist monks, master healers – as well as scientists.
She extrapolated this programme from the common practices of all these diverse healers, plus scientific evidence describing circumstances that created the most positive results in mind-over-matter laboratory experiences.
From this research she offers a blueprint for using intention effectively in your own life through a program she calls Powering Up.
Her complete program is available in her book The Intention Experiment. For more information, click here.
Here are some basics of the program:
• How to choose a special intention space.
• How to power up through meditation.
• When to move into a state of peak focus.
• How to make state your intention and make it very specific.
• How to mentally rehearse every moment of it.
• How and when to visualize, in vivid detail, your intention as established fact.
• The best timing – which are the best days for doing intention.
• How to surrender to the universe’s power and let go of the outcome. (http://www.theintentionexperiment.com/how-to-intend)
Taggart was being interviewed by George Nori on his radio show (one which I listen to when I want some real big belly laughs with his usual gaggle of kooks) and she stated that detailed instructions on how to reach the state of consciousness necessary to allegedly be able to use your thoughts to change the material world would be given to everyone who signs up for this "experiment".  As luck would have it, by the way, part of those instructions are a sales pitch to buy her book.  George remarked that the last time a large group of people were organizaed to send their intentions for rain in the Atlanta area not much really happened, but that now there has been a flood which killed a number of people in that general area.  He said "I wonder if we caused that" and "could it be dangerous to do what we are doing?".  Taggart answered that she did not really know what would happen as a result of these experiments but that it could well be that the current floods in Atlanta were a result of the former group thought projection and that this intention experiement might have unitented consequnces.  (George Nori radio show, 9/23/09, KHVH 830)  I thought to myself, "you come close to hitting the nail on the head with that statement!"  Though nothing is going to change with regards to the latest experiment, the lives and belief systems of people are sure to change, which are not unintended consequences at all.

Now my contention is that if the floods were due to "sent intentions" then the experiment was a failure because it did not produce the results intended.  But in actuality it was a failure because there is no such thing as collective thought "capable of changing the physical world" as Taggart contends.

One of the "intention experiments" mentioned on the Nori show by Taggart was to attempt to change the ph of the water of a lake.  Supposedly a picture of that lake will be sent to the participants and they are to focus on that lake to try to change the ph.  I thought to myself, this is a stupid experiment.  It would prove nothing because a lake has too many factors present that could change water ph by the simple influences of nature and weather.  If you want to run a true PH experiment, put distilled water in a glass container, set it in the middle of a room with 24/7 video surveillance where no one is allowed to go near it, then on a certain date at a certain time let people strain their senses to the ultimate to try to change the ph of that water.  I can tell you the reason why they will not run this type of experiment ...  it is because there is not one chance that it would succeed and they know it!  They have to have some variables that might allow them to claim success, and thereby fool people.

They also talked about how the "ancients" apparently had harnessed this kind of power.  But where it their proof?  The building of the pyramids?  That has been demonstrated that it could have been done with human ingenuity, not human supernatural thoughts.  Dan Brown quotes the Bible about God at Babel implying that God said that people had collective thought power.

Gen. 11:6-7  The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other." (NIV)
When you use the KJV it sounds like God is saying that people have supernatural powers they may not know about.
Gen. 11:6-7 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.  Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. (KJV)
But the word "imagined" is zamam which also means: thought, devise, consider, purpose, plan, imagine, etc. showing that what God was saying is that if they all remained in one place they would be able to plan and devise a way to stay together in defiance of God's purpose which was to populate the whole earth.  God knew that their evil plan would lead right back to where they were before the flood, living in violence, sin and the worship of demons.  So since God would not judge them again with a worldwide flood, He confused their languages which set them forth away from each other against their evil intentions.  Notice that this has nothing to do with some kind of power of collective consciousness.  It has everything to do with sinful men and women staying together, devising false worship and commiting sinful immorality together.

The real purpose behind the Intention Experiment is to fool people into thinking they are little gods, as is the ascertion of Brown and Taggart, and to get them there through introducing them to, what amounts to, transcendental meditation and the Zeitgeist, the spirit of the air, the devil (Eph. 2:2).  It is leading to the moment of the fruition of this idea, when it has fully diapraxed enough people, when the AntiChrist will use this to make it look like humanity can get together and cause there to be peace on earth through their thoughts.  He will tell them that they are all "gods" collectively, him being the best manifestation of god, and they will believe him.  But then he will force people to worship him, thus proving that he is possessed by the false god who fell from heaven (Rev. 13:14-18).

The fact that this stuff is taking over the world is not really news.  Worldly unsaved people have no hope of any kind of real discernment without the Holy Spirit.  But this is also coming into the churches by way of the New Apostolic Reformation and the Emerging Church.  Dutch Sheets in 2000 already set the stage for collective meditation in his "prophecy" message on the subject of "syneergy", a New Age term he borrowed.

There is a synergistic joining of cities I don't pretend to understand this but I know that I know ... there is an anointing that comes in that city to do something and then God will begin to say and this city is connected to this city over here and God is going to connect this one and that one and this one and that one until there is a synergistic anointing being released from the land coming here here, here, here and it is a marriage taking place in the spirit ... There is a joining and a marrying of judgment and mercy grace and truth. He is synergistically joining the government of heaven to the government of earth. I will tell ya God is going to move in politics you are going to see kings and leaders I am tell you right now you are going to see them bow the knee you are going to see them prostrate themselves before almighty God you are going to see them lead their nations righteously you are going to see nations come to God in a day you are going to see Holiness and a move of the spirit of God restored to the government of this land I decree it I believe it ...it is so ... (Dutch Sheets, National School of the Prophets - Mobilizing the Prophetic Office Conference, Colorado Springs, CO on May 12, 2002.)
Not only is this "synergy" promoted by Sheets not taught in the Bible, unless it is a type that is evil, but what Sheets predicted back in 2000 is a false prophecy because we know that before Christ comes back there will be a falling away in the churches and an oppressive demonically inspired world government.

Synergy is a concept taught in Scripture, but it is something that always becomes an instrument of God's judgment.  See this article.  Stay away from the false teachers today who tell the churches we need "synergy" because they are luring you into a position where you will end up under God's judgment.  Instead, come away from them and come together in obedience to the Word and the Will of God and you will see the blessings of God.  By blessings I don't mean bigger churches, bigger budgets, bigger plans.  I don't mean purpose driven pragmatic programs that are fueled by human zeal instead of godly submission.  Don't confuse the blessings of God with the blessings the world deems important.  Lay up your treasure in heaven where it will not disappear or be burned up.

Leaders of the EC like Leonard Sweet are already touring the Christian colleges of America proclaiming that everyone has a "Christ-consciousness", including those in other religions.  But how can they have a consciousness of Christ if they have not heard the Gospel?

Rom. 10:14-15  How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" {Isaiah 52:7}
Here is just one quote from Sweet:
New Lights offer up themselves as the cosmions of a mind-of-Christ consciousness. As a cosmion incarnating the cells of a new body, New Lights will function as transitional vessels through which transforming energy can renew the divine image in the world, moving postmoderns from one state of embodiment to another. (Leonard Sweet, Quantum Spirituality, p. 48) A surprisingly central feature of all the world's religions is the language of light in communicating the divine and symbolizing the union of the human with the divine: Muhammed's light-filled cave, Moses' burning bush, Paul's blinding light, Fox's "inner light," Krishna's Lord of Light, Bohme's light-filled cobbler shop, Plotinus' fire experiences, Bodhisattvas with the flow of Kundalini's fire erupting from their fontanelles, and so on." (Ibid, p. 235
So there you have it, the intentions of the enemy made manifest.  Remember that we do not want to be caught unaware of the schemes of the enemy (2 Cor. 2:11).
