Sola Scriptura
"Christians" Who Try To Poke Holes In Sola Scriptura
by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on this article: "Christians" Who Try To Poke Holes In Sola Scriptura

There are a number of the leadership of the Emerging Church (EC) who do not believe that the Bible is the highest authority for the Christian faith.  Most do not believe that the Bible is inerrant in the original manuscripts and many do not acknowledge that the Bible is our highest revelation.  Yet this is a core doctrine over which true believers and false brethren must separate. Those who try to poke holes in Sola Scriptura make excuses like (1) we need to reinterpret the Bible through the lens of postmodern culture and religion (2) the Bible never uses the words "Sola Scriptura" therefore it is not a Biblical concept (3) there is new revelation for the church through the Holy Spirit apart from what is written and the precepts of the Bible and (4) the Bible just doesn't address our postmodern situation therefore we cannot rely on it for the truth and answers for our problems today.  I will prove that all the above arguments, and more, from EC leaders and others is exactly what they are teaching.  I will give you quotes from their teachings, videos and books. The postmodern church and its "movements" are abandoning Sola Scriptura in their rush to be like the Roman Catholic Church, which takes its authority from a mix of Scripture and tradition.

"As a result the Church, to whom the transmission and interpretation of Revelation is entrusted, "does not derive her certainty about all revealed truths from the holy Scriptures alone. Both Scripture and Tradition must be accepted and honored with EQUAL sentiments of devotion and reverence." (Roman Catholic Catechism, Given October 11, 1992, the thirtieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, in the fourteenth year of my Pontificate. Page 31).

Great deception
is afoot in the churches today, happening right before our very eyes. In fact, it may have already come to your church. False doctrines, a different gospel, and even doctrines of demons have been introduced into many churches via books, music, videos, teachers and movements that claim to be of God. Please read the articles on this site from a wide variety of denominations and authors on the subject of deception in the church before you encourage anyone from your church to go to meetings where false teachers claim to be able to transfer the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands and subsequently soften people up to receive false doctrines, which can ultimately shipwreck their faith or prevent them from ever coming to salvation in Christ. Since the linked articles on these pages are from a wide variety of sources, we do not necessarily agree with every word contained in them. In general, however, they do represent good Scriptural apologetics on the subject of the current "Third Wave" or "New Apostolic Reformation" movement and other unbiblilcal groups. If you have already seen negative fruit from these movements, or if you have other doctrinal objections to any extra Biblical group mentioned on this site ... or have any other comment  ... your comments are welcome. Please contact us by emailIt is hoped that this page will (a) alert Christians worldwide to deception in the church (b) provide resources for discernment, judging rightly, and testing the spirits (c) bring many believers back to obedience to Jesus Christ and the written Word from which all Christian doctrine and teaching should be derived and (d) promote the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth which "is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes" (Rom. 1:16), not a gospel of signs and wonders.

If you want to keep up to date with what's happening in the "Third Wave" and the latest resources available on this site, please bookmark the  "What's New!" page and visit it often.

We Need Your Support!
Dear All,

Your continued support of this ministry is key to our ability to reach people all over the world with the truths of God's Word!
I want to thank those of you who have continued to pray for us and support us with your gifts and orders.  That is what enables us to continue this vital ministry.  Apologetics Coordination Team has people all over the world who have been helped by our website and newsletters.  We currently have between 1-2 million hits per month on the site.  We continue to get good reports of changed lives.  We also get our share of criticism and outright persecution.  But the Lord has been faithful and I know many of you have been praying for us and some have helped financially.

We hope, Lord willing, to be paring up with another apologetics ministries in the next few months at which time we will be able to provide those who would like to support us monthly with a tax exempt receipt if they make their check out to that ministry designated to us.  Until I am able to let you know when that will happen and who it will be with, we would still appreciate your continued donations via mail and PayPal directly to us.

We have had a number of expenses these past months such as registration for our van we use to pick Pacific islanders up in Hawaii for our Bible studies as well as gas and an ever increasing cost of living here in the islands.

So I could really use your help right now!

I need to ask again that you prayerfully consider giving to this ministry.
Please consider ordering one of our products or making a donation.  Simply follow the guidelines on the donation link if you wish to help support this ministry.  As always, you can see the DITC e-Newsletter archive here and sign up to receive this newsletter or unsubscribe there as well.

Let us uphold one another in prayer, in encouragement and in information on what is going on in the churches.  I thank the Lord for those of you who are modern day Bereans. May the Lord continue to bless you as you practice discernment and help others to become mature in Christ.  As some discernment ministries are shutting down, we will continue, as long as the Lord allows, to provide the churches with the materials and analysis necessary to navigate the world and the apostasy in many churches by teaching exegetically from the Scriptures.

May the Lord richly bless you as you consider helping us out during this time of need.

In His hands,
Sandy Simpson

ACT Worship Song Ratings

This Worship Song Ratings page is here to help churches, pastors and worship leaders in choosing music for their churches.  The ratings on this page are based solely on the lyrics of the songs we have rated, not the music.  Music is a subjective thing for most people and hard to rate for everyone.  But the lyrical content can be rated as to how well it upholds Biblical teachings ... or not.  Our ratings are based on a four star system.
