Entertainment-style Christianity vs. Interactive-style Christianityby Sandy Simpson Today, in a majority of churches, we see the result of the seeker-friendly, "purpose-driven", church growth, Third Wave, New Apostolic Reformation methods and teachings and their product I am calling "Entertainment-style Christianity" (ESC). But ESC churches are not only missing out on the cutting edge of true Christianity, but are heading down the road to apostasy. True biblical Christianity is "interactive". Those in ESC are taught to be spectators at mega-church entertainment events. They are not taught the Bible but rather to be enamored with the oratorical skills of the preacher, and to not dare question anything that is shoved down the throats of the "laity" by the ruling "anointed" elite. They are treated to a circus atmosphere including wild CCM music with people flailing around and acting like they are on drugs, to preachers who tell endless stories about themselves and joke about everything while actually making profundity mundane, to hula dancing, to banners and marching in the church and around it, to the blowing of shofars, to slain in the spirit and wild manifestations. Theirs ears are tickled by guest speakers who make up sermons out of their own imaginations instead of the written Word. They are entertained with gold dust, gold fillings, "angel" feathers, "angel" footprints, drunk in the spirit antics, and during these displays they can go out and get a latte and a snack at the church snack bar. They come into these mega churches and leave without being personally challenged other than with tired worldly psychology, and without anyone being able to find out what they are doing in their private lives. A small percentage attend "cell groups" where they are diapraxed into consensus instead of challenged to be Bereans and think and act for themselves. They live like the world during the week, then come to church where the world is not only welcomed but accommodated.

Among the most pressing issues of our times are those surrounding systemic racism. I write this even in light of an extremely important Presidential election and being engulfed in the Covid-19 pandemic because, as important as these other two issues are, racism has become so divisive and explosive that it has the potential of shaping our world for years to come. Volumes have been written and spoken on this subject from every persuasion, and my comments will likely add little. However, as issues concerning racism are not only cultural but also spiritual, it is important that we examine how racial debates and disagreements are affecting Christians and the church.

Sorry, Not Sorry: Why The Nar Prophets' Apologies For Getting Things Wrong Don't Cut It
|
by Holly Pivec, 1/20/21
"With their failed prophecies about Trump's reelection, NAR prophets have disappointed the people, damaged the reputation of the Church, and have fostered greater suspicion of Christian leadership. YouTube videos mocking all evangelicals because of their failed prophecies have received millions of views, such as this one titled "Evangelicals Freak Out." The NAR prophets have made it much more difficult for Christians to share the gospel going forward." (Holly Pivec & Doug Geivett - Apologies from the many "prophets" of the New Apostolic Reformation who falsely prophesied President Trump's reelection are pouring in, including apologies from Kris Vallotton, Shawn Bolz, and Jeremiah Johnson. They say their failed prophecies don't make them false prophets. They maintain that they're still genuine prophets of God, and they stress that they've prophesied accurately in the past. Yet they admit that, this time, they missed it big time. Many of their followers have responded to their apologies with praise for their humility and their willingness to admit they were mistaken. Indeed, many have said that the apologies actually serve to strengthen their credibility and provide more reason to trust the "prophets." (Other followers are doubling down and insisting that the "prophets" were right and that, despite all evidence to the contrary, Trump will see a second term in office because God will vindicate the prophets and reverse the present circumstances.) In short, many of their followers have accepted the apologies of the "prophets" and have indicated that they still see them as legitimate prophets. The "prophets" did apologize, after all. Wasn't that big of them? Shouldn't we give them credit for owning up to their mistakes?

?"God is judging the Church for sinning "grievously" by "wedding evangelicalism to a political party." Because, it wasn't about protecting religious freedom - that we all know is now gone. It wasn't about protecting unborn life - that we now know will be in greater danger. It wasn't about protecting the consciences of people who don't want to be forced to deny reality when it comes to sex and gender." Beth Moore is the Southern Baptist Convention's top lady-preacher and prime merry-andrew of Evangelicalism. Beth Moore, like her spiritual brother, Russell Moore (no relation), has lead the charge in opposing conservative policies in the political realm, primarily railing against the evil orange man, daily. Today, she has what she's been asking for. Moore has repeatedly lambasted conservative Evangelicals who supported Donald Trump while giving approval to those who support the pro-sodomy, pro-abortion anti-religious freedom political party. The Democrats, unlike the Republicans, stand for everything that God is against. In fact, the Democrat party platform is like the antithesis to the 10 Commandments. Yet, Beth Moore, like the growing swaths of leftist Evangelicals, are increasingly encouraging "political diversity" and giving approval to leftists.
