  Blasphemizing The Bible
"Blasphemizing" The Bible

by Sandy Simpson
This DVD is a message based on this article.

I am going to go over an article I wrote back in 2006 in preparation for the book I wrote with Mike Oppenheimer called "Idolatry in Their Hearts".  This book is an apologetic against the false teachings of the World Christian Gathering on Indigenous People movement, the Emerging Church and the New Apostolic Reformation which got their ideas from the book "Eternity in Their Hearts" by Don Richardson.  At the time that book came out no one really saw the dangerous ideas Richardson was promoting.  All they would have had to do was look at the two subtitles of that book to understand the implications.  The first subtitle in the 1981 edition read: The Untold Story of Christianity among Folk Religions of Ancient People.  Those who read this book found some interesting cross-cultural ideas but apparently missed the false premise of the book starting with the subtitle. How could Christianity be "among folk religions" where the Gospel had not been preached (Rom. 10:14-15)? At that time Christians who read the book were apparently satisfied that, though there was some questionable material present, it made for an interesting discussion on how to do cross-cultural ministry. The subtitle it has today, which was first published in 1984, is as follows: Startling Evidence of Belief in the One True God in Hundreds of Cultures Throughout the World.  This should have been a red flag for many Christians but then, who reads subtitles?  But how could the "One True God" be known to Gentiles who, the Bible states, did "not know God".

Featured Discernment Ministry
Let Us Reason

Let Us Reason Ministries has been involved in discipleship of those who leave the cults. We are very much aware of the transition time of exiting a cult being crucial, as one entrances the body of Christ, there are many questions to be answered and many adjustments in ones lifestyle. Unfortunately the churches have been of little help in these matters.

We are also involved in counseling, meeting personally with those who are struggling to leave or concerned with friends and loved ones who are involved in cult groups. We want to present the differences in a clear and concise fashion, motivated by love for God and the people (Mk.12:29-30; Gal.5:14). Love will speak the truth to win the hearer, not just the argument or a certain point.

We make ourselves available to do seminars and group or church teachings to help instruct believers in practical ways to witness. Film presentations printed materials and skits are used to illustrate certain points.

The evangelical political games are essentially ever. All that is left is to create an evangelical political party. The GDP will sooner, rather than later, nominate a presidential candidate advocating same sex marriage. The past election cycle demonstrated the culture is too far gone to he saved by the ballet box and raw poilitical and legislative power.

Contemplative Spirituality Concerns Part 1 (Video)
by Chris Lawson Spiritual Research Network
Spiritual Research Network, 5/31/13

Many people today - Christians and non-Christians - are engaging in Contemplative Spirituality practices. What many do not realize is that the Spiritual Formation "centering prayer" movement, with its mystical and occult methods and techniques, is part of a global Interfaith system of spirituality, a spirituality that is rooted in Eastern mysticism and philosophies such as pantheism (All is God, God is all), monism (All is one) and panentheistic (All in God, God in all) evolutionary occultism (the "hidden" things, "universal cosmic energies," quantum spirituality, etc). This short introductory video speaks to fact that the "centering prayer" and "meditation" movements within the the New Spirituality/New Gospel/New Age movement are hostile to the Person, nature and work of Jesus Christ and the biblical Gospel.

by The Berean Call, 6/1/13 The Berean Call

A very large part of Christendom in the United States is enamored with those who claim to speak for God. If you think that's an overstatement, simply tune into some of the programing on Trinity Broadcasting Network or some of the other cable religious networks. What you will see are churches filled with thousands of Christians hanging on to every word of a man or a woman who is declaring what God has just revealed to him or her. The content ranges from the mundane to the bizarre. To some observers who are fairly well versed in the Scriptures, what they are hearing and seeing is laughable. But that's a tragic reaction by some who are forgetting that many of those being led astray by the so-called new prophets and apostles are their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Jay Bakker's Rainbow Bread Communion
at The Berean Call, 5/30/13 The Berean Call

Minnesota became the twelfth state in the United States to redefine marriage. Jay Bakker, son of the televangelists Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, marked the occasion by offering "rainbow bread" for "communion" at the inaugural service of Revolution Church Minnesota on Sunday, May 12th.
