Featured Discernment Ministry

Bible Guidance
Bibleguidance is an interdenominational Christian ministry aimed at proclaiming and promoting basic facts on evangelical Christianity. The timeless truths of the Bible are exposed as well as various contemporary issues and trends. Much attention is devoted to the fulfilment of biblical prophecies. As a discernment type ministry we are intent on making a clear distinction between true and false interpretations of Scripture. Biblical statements are interpreted in the light of correlating scriptures.

Dear All,

The letters to the churches in Revelation that precede the description of the end times were written not only to real churches in the first century but to the Church.  We are to be overcomers in this last days Laodicean age where false teaching pervades the churches.

I would like to thank those of you who ordered materials or sent support for ACT.  It is a big help to us right now.  If you still want to help please consider ordering one of our products or making a donation.  Please follow the guidelines on the donation link if you wish to help support this ministry. As always, you can see the DITC e-Newsletter archive here and sign up to receive this newsletter or unsubscribe there as well.

Profane Preachers Contribute to Killing the Conscience
by Marsha West, The Christian Post, 9/29/12

There seems to be a growing trend in the Church for the clergy to feed the sensual appetite through their sermons. What we are dealing with are pastors who have dirty minds and potty mouths. The word that best describes them is profane.

"Prepare to chill out, D.C.: Eckhart Tolle, spiritual mega-teacher, making his first D.C. appearance"
with comment by Lighthouse Trails, 10/1/12 LT Publishing

"Christ is your God-essence or the Self, as it is sometimes called in the East. The only difference between Christ and presence is that Christ refers to your indwelling divinity regardless of whether you are conscious of it or not, whereas presence means your awakened divinity or God-essence." (Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now, p. 104) LTRP Note: The following article is posted not as an endorsement but rather for research and informational purposes. Lighthouse Trails has posted articles about New Age guru Eckhart Tolle before (especially after the big promotion Oprah gave him a few years ago), and we find it  worth noting that the visit by Tolle to Washington DC takes place the day after the first presidential debate for this election. As we have often reported, the new age/"new" spirituality permeates our Western society including those who govern our countries. See the "Related Articles" below for important information and documentation.

The Dilemma of Laodicea
by James Jacob Prasch The Dilema Of Laodicea

There are "things which you have seen", "things which are", and "things which will take place".

The seven churches of the book of Revelation, which actually existed in the 1st Century ("things which you have seen"), also represent seven broad types of churches that can exist at any time in history ("things which are"), and seven generally overlapping periods of church history ("things which will take place"). These letters to the seven churches of Asia can be applied in four main ways:

    * They existed literally and historically at the end of the 1st Century A.D.
    * They are seven types of churches which exist at any time throughout history.
    * They represent seven types of churches that will exist at the end of the age.
    * They correspond quite well to seven periods of church history.

This book examines the history of the church in light of the letters of Jesus Christ to the seven churches in Asia, as recorded by John in his Revelations. Unless learning can be achieved from the errors of the past it is a sure thing that those errors will be repeated.

Cult Alert: The Christian Family Fellowship
by The Berean Call, 10/1/12 The Berean Call

The Christian Family Fellowship is another non-Christian cult spreading in the already cult-saturated landscape of America. Unfortunately, the group is growing with fellowships in other states. I do not know how large the membership is but it appears to be in the thousands. This group appears to be an offshoot of The Way International, a decidedly non-Christian cult since it denies the deity of Jesus. The Christian Family Fellowship Ministry describes itself as a "studying, teaching, and fellowship ministry." It says, "Our purpose is to study and search the scriptures to understand their accuracy regarding Jesus Christ, who is 'the way, the truth, and the life.'" This sounds good on the surface. But, when you dig into the site, you discover some serious problems. The Christian Family Fellowship denies the doctrine of the Trinity.  On their website is an article written by a Rev. Jeff Rath (August 1998) titled, "The Historical background of the Trinity." In it Rev. Rath states, "The trinity originated with Babylon." He then goes on to attack the doctrine as an unbiblical teaching. He also states that "This polytheistic (believing in more than one god) trinitarianism was intertwined with Greek religion and philosophy." This is a misrepresentation of the Trinity doctrine which is decidedly not polytheistic. It is monotheistic.
