FINISH THE RACE! was written to help believers to realize the absolute necessity of growing to maturity in Christ. Many churches are urging Christians to push aside discernment in favor of experience. It is our hope that this book will inspire many believers to fight the good fight, finish the race, and keep the faith (2 Tim. 4:7). Go here to order this book! Visit Our Products Page! |

DITC e-Newsletter Volume 34, Issue 8 |
Dear All,
I guess a "Shack Bible" could be expected since a number of churches have been studying "The Shack" instead of the Bible in their "Bible studies". Finally someone has the guts to call the New Apostolic Reformation a cult! Congrats to Marsha West. Since Campus Crusade has been involved with C. Peter Wagner's ideas for decades, is it any wonder they are changing their name to reflect the fact that they are no longer doing campus evangelism? Is it a surprise that "Christlam" is taking shape in many churches since we have people like Samy Tanagho, who believes Allah is YHWH and who's ministry is endorsed by Chuck Smith, are travelling all over the place to spread the false ideas of YWAM and the WCGIP? --- Please consider ordering one of our products or making a donation. As always, you can see the DITC e-Newsletter archive here and sign up to receive this newsletter or unsubscribe there as well. |

Texas Governor's Upcoming Leadership Event Includes Cult Members
| by Marsha West News With Views, 8/3/11
The prayer event I'm speaking of is The Response: a call to prayer for a nation in crisis. The cult Gov. Rick Perry has involved himself with is the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR). The NAR has dozens of offshoots and an assortment of names such as Dominionists, Latter Rain, Kansas City Prophets, Third Wave, Joel's Army, Manifest(ed) Sons of God, Five-Fold Ministry, to name a few. Another offshoot, and the one I'll deal with here, is the International House of Prayer (IHOP), a splinter group of the Kansas City Prophets. Confusing? You betcha!

| by Jeff Kunerth The Orlando Sentinel, 8/3/11
The Campus Crusade for Christ's recent announcement that the organization plans to change its name to Cru has left lots of people scratching their heads - especially after the ministry said it went through 1,600 possible names before coming up with that one.

Is the God of Chrstianity and the God of Islam the same?
| by Matt Slick, CARM, 8/3/11
No, the God of Christianity and the God of Islam are not the same. First of all, the God of Christianity is a Trinity where the God of Islam is not. The Trinity is the monotheistic teaching that God exists eternally as three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In Islam, this is blatantly denied.
