Bible GuidanceDr. Johan Malan's site called Bibleguidance is an interdenominational Christian ministry aimed at
publishing and promoting the basic facts about evangelical Christianity.
The timeless truths of the Bible are exposed as well as various
contemporary issues and trends. Much attention is devoted to the
fulfilment of biblical prophecies. As a discernment type ministry we are
intent on making a clear distinction between true and false
interpretations of Scripture. Our main objective is to glorify the Lord
Jesus Christ. When He is exalted He will draw people to Himself.

Dear All,
In his book "The Backslider", in the chapter
titled "On the General Nature and
Differing Species of Backsliding", English clergyman Andrew Fuller
(1754-1815) wrote that, "All backsliding from God originates in a
departure of heart from him."
Three general characteristics indicate movement of a Christian's heart
away from God; the first being "A RELINQUISHMENT OF EVANGELICAL DOCTRINE,"
and the second, "FALLING INTO SOME GROSS IMMORALITY"...
... Relevant to the issues, contentions and demonstrations
current in American politics-unemployment numbers, housing foreclosures,
federal bailouts, deficit spending, the Tea Party movement,
nationalized health care, international cap and trade, amnesty for
illegal immigrants, appointments to the federal judiciary and Supreme
Court, wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, deficit spending, nuclear arms
reductions, rampant immorality, and so on-Fuller expounds a third characteristic of backsliding,
one worthy of our consideration in light of the Dominionist
agenda manifested by some Christians belonging to both the
Christian-evangelical political right and the Christian-emergent
political left, an agenda which sees the cure for societal ills to be
found in administering faith based antidotes to halt the process of our
nation's secularization.
Admittedly, most of us possess strong
convictions and feelings about what needs to be done amidst the current
economic, political and social crisis being faced by our nation, and
this is why Fuller's description of the third characteristic of the
backslider, though written two centuries ago, ought to give us pause. (From
POLITICIZING THE FAITH: Cause célèbre for worldly evangelicals! by Pastor
Larry DeBruyn)
The Church taking over the governments, businesses and every other aspect of life on earth as advocated by the New Apostolic Reformation leadership, is not only not the answer to the sins of mankind, but can actually be a departure from the Gospel. If we do not learn our lessons from history in this regard, we are bound to repeat those same errors.

POLITICIZING
THE
FAITH: Cause célèbre for worldly evangelicals! | by Pastor Larry DeBruyn, 4/15/10
Finally, there is another species of departure from God, which it
becomes me to notice, as many in the present age have fallen sacrifices
to it. This is, TAKING AN EAGER AND DEEP INTEREST IN POLITICAL DISPUTES.

| The Seductive
Poison of Apostasy by Eric Barge, 4/15/10
180 is a compilation of several authors, including Emergent leader
and author, Leonard Sweet, Frederica Mathewes-Green (who, along with
Sweet
and Emergent godfather, Brian McLaren, contributed to the book The
Church
in the Emerging Culture: Five Perspectives), G.P (Graham) Taylor (author
of Shadowmancer), and Baptist-bred biographer-turned-fiction-writer, Ace
Collins. A few of the other contributing authors include Emergent youth
speaker, Mark Oestreicher, Karen Spears Zacharias, Patricia Raybon (who
has endorsed contemplative spirituality and favors Catholic mystics),
Cameron
Conant and Bob Buford, the founder of Leadership Network, (the suspected
genesis point which spawned today's Emergent movement and its original
leaders). Buford also served as the initial chairman of the Peter F.
Drucker
Foundation for Nonprofit Management, now known as "Leader to Leader

Edinburgh 2010
| by Gary Gilley, Think On These Things, April/May 2010 - Volume 16, Issue 2 Recently all branches of Christendom have placed on par the so-called Cultural Mandate with the Great Commission. The Cultural Mandate carries the implication that as caretakers of the earth, mankind, including Christians, has been authorized by God to solve the socio-political problems facing the world. With this presupposition the evangelical church is increasingly seeing the gospel as two-pronged - proclaim the good news of redemption in Christ and the good news that working together we can solve the injustices prevalent all over the globe. Without denial of our role as stewards of God's creation, the Cultural Mandate (once referred to as the Social Gospel) confuses the mission given to us by Christ and dilutes the resources to do what only the church has been called to do - tell people how they can be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.
